Teacher Training
FREE Workshops: Keeping Your Students Safe on the Job
For Linked Learning, CTE, Career Pathway Academy, WorkAbility and other Work-Based Learning Professionals
- Learn how to teach 21st Century health and safety critical thinking skills using fun, participatory activities, with the Youth @ Work: Talking Safety curriculum available from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) (NOCTI badge available).
- Learn about tools to help ensure that external field placements are meeting safety and health responsibilities to keep student learners safe.
Safety in the Workplace needs to be addressed by all work-based learning programs including CTE pathway courses. The State Superintendent’s Career Ready Initiative, the Anchor Standards in the California CTE Model Curriculum Standards, and the Eleven Elements of High-Quality Work-Based Learning (AB2211) all direct teachers to cover this topic.
