This fact sheet gives information on workplace driving laws that are important to follow so that young drivers may gain work experience under the safest conditions possible. It also provides recommendations on how to promote safe driving and prevent motor vehicle crashes among young workers who drive as part of their job.

Health and Safety of Young Workers: Proceedings of a U.S. and Canadian Series of Symposia (2013)
This document is a compilation of white papers (or subsequently published articles) that were developed through a series of symposia (from 2007 to 2010) co-funded by NIOSH and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation. The symposia brought together scholars from the U.S. and Canada to consider the implications of youth employment, and to make recommendations for youth employment given its complex relationships with other components of youth development.
Working Together for Safety — A State Team Approach to Preventing Occupational Injuries in Young People (2005)
Contains two case studies that demonstrate the value of the State team approach to fostering safe and healthful youth employment, and also describes the experiences and activities of State teams in the Northeast; the products developed by the teams, and key resources for other States interested in creating their own State teams.

Promoting Safe Work for Young Workers: A Community-based ApproacH (1999)
The guide provides summaries of three NIOSH-funded projects, and lists steps in coordinating a community-based young worker project. Detailed guidance is given for working with schools, employers, parents, health care providers, job training programs, and teen peer education programs.
